Since my previous post was about a credit card, it only reminded me of something: I have got a lot of plastic cards in my drawer!

I always had this habit of applying credit cards, not using them and then terminate them.

Reasons for applying cards:

  1. Free gifts. Banks always lure customers with tonnes of gifts. Some I apply for free bags, some I apply to get special purchase prices for items, some I apply for free hotel vouchers, etc.
  2. Trying out each bank to find out which give better service.
  3. Most banks don’t have free for life cards. Once the free annual fee period (usually 1 or 2 yrs) has ended, it’s time to terminate it and applying a new card from another bank.
  4. Can collect cards with different designs!

My card collection. Not all cards are here because local banks usually need us to submit back the old card when terminating. Not in the photo are cards from Hong Leong Bank, MBF and Bank Islam. The banks that I have never tried are HSBC, UOB, OCBC and RHB. (Although I do have the cards from HSBC and UOB courtesy of my parents) Maybe I will get the chance to have one of their cards one day.

These belongs to my parents.

Anyway, I am not debt ridden with card debts. Plastic card rules!
