The origins of Prim3

It all started out one day.. When I enter MMU, I was exposed to the counter-strike LAN game by my housemates. At that time, we stayed in an apartment called Emerald Park, where each block is linked together by LAN. We were able to connect to each other for network games for CS. At that time, I had never played such a game before. (First person shooter play before, but never in networked games.) All that while, I were using Allen as nick in solo games. But I thought such a nick was too simple and silly to be exposed.. haha.. so a search for a true nick begun.

The first ever nick that came into my mind was Red Wizard. Red Wizard is a very famous race/clan in the game Baldur’s Gate. They were very powerful wizards. And their superior use of magic made one very powerful and strong. The nick Red Wizard started out quite well. Even my first ever email was based on this.. (Anyone still remember it? ) But then, later on, certain events witnessed the need for the nick to be changed. The sole reason for this can be seen in the “Secret Lair” part of this blog. So now, another search for a new glamorous nick has just begun..

I remembered during my childhood, the Transformers Animated Series was sure one of my favourite must-watch. Every Sunday morning on TV1/TV2, they sure are showing the show. I also remember the great Autobot leader, Optimus Prime. He is the charismatic and wise leader of the good side. Being my childhood hero, I decided to follow my nick over him. And thus, came Allen Prime.. As time passed, Allen Prime became one of the most feared CS player in the C block in EP. Only one man can compete with him - Eminem, who was also a great CS player. Allen Prime became so famous until when someone succeed in killing him in the game, loud shouts and chants can be heard all over the place. But of course, killed him once but getting killed 10 times is nothing so terrific actually.. haha.. As quoted by my fren, Frederick: “Haven come out already killed by him”

Later on, came Jedi Prim3, which was the nick of the e-mail address I am using until now. Being both Transformers and Star Wars fan, I combined the two to produce one super nick. Jedi and Prim3. In theory this means the leader of the Jedis.. haha.. or super Jedi? of course, later on some other variants appeared, like Darth Prim3, Power Prim3 and so on.. but it all evolved from the very same nick since Allen Prime. Oh ya.. Prime became Prim3 because 3 is the mirrored version of the capital E. During the design of e-mail nicks, one of the consideration is to get one that spammers cannot guess, so that they cannot send junk mails all over your mailbox. So instead of Jedi Prime (all in dictionary), Jedi Prim3 was a better option. (Can you find Prim3 in the dictionary?) And also, Prim3 does seem more cool

The final evolution came when the nick was shortened to just Prim3. Jedi was ditched due to the sound. Jedi Prim3 (3 vocals) vs Prim3 (1 vocal).. it was also both easier and smarter to type as just Prim3.. Game nicks and general nicks also changed to Prim3.. and recently, the cyber home of Prim3, Prim3.org was born as well. (Prim3.org as Prim3.com and Prim3.net was taken) So in the end, Prim3 was reborn and relaunched and we can now see the rise of a new era, the Prim3 era!
